Thanks! Will keep that as a suggestion to resolve any future problems. 
Actually forgot about that redirection ‘trick’.

Not sure why it worked but Stephen’s suggestion to copy in the 
config.xml from “Backend 3” to the Raspeberry Pi Frontend fixed.
