[mythtv-users] Advice: What ought I have done

I recorded a movie, The Grey, cut listed it, transcoded and saved.
scan and it did not show.

I have previously written hashDups. Ran it and sure enough the hash was the same as Another Movie

I moved the start cut point and repeated.
scan and it did not show.
hashDups showed no duplicate hashes.

(saved a copy) Deleted Another Movie, scan and it no longer showed

restored Another Movie, scan and Another Movie shows. Either the medta data was retrieved very fast or it was never lost.

I transcoded and saved “The Grey” as Grey. scanned and there was “Grey”
I edited title to “The Grey”, retrieved meta data. It was now titled “The Grey” with correct meta data.

$ rm The\ Grey*

All is good, everything plays, in particular “Another Movie” and “The Grey” play and have correct meta data.

Except for things that did and did not happen, that should or should not have happened all is kewl, but the subject line says it all
