seems the AVSync2 patch has helped it smooth out after about 10 secs but not as good as AVsync(1) at the start of playback.  I did noticed that patch avsync2 became jerky again after a few minutes of smooth playback however (only seen on one livetv playback - UK BBC2 HD). As you've noted Peter, a quick pause/play seems to resolve it.
