On the boards and laptops with usb3 I have so far seen, usb3 has a
separate controller and separate connectors. They are for instance
with blue in stead of black plastic inside. I know usb3 has extra
wiring next to the usb2 and the front connectors often only have the
usb2 wiring.
If so, it might be worth trying one of the other only usb1.1/2
connectors with usb3 enabled.
