As this is a problem that affects me too, I have to emphasize: regardless
on how it's called, it is NOT critics of the work that is done, but
critics of removed/altered functionality! This is a big difference.

I still stick on my copy of the Mythbuntu v27.1 theme and periodically
check the current version, due to massive changes after this version. I
don't want to go into detail, as we did this a while ago excessively and I
have accepted that my critics were not accepted...

But I like the idea to fork a theme for experiments or serving special
needs, instead of forcing the big user base into this. There are many
other ppl. out there - ones that are not able (or do not want) to manually
copy/install a theme, ones that do not write to forums or to this list -
but some of them disagree with those changes as well. This is no theory -
an example is a collegue of me, who switched to the xbmc frontend with
some kind of plugin for mythtv, because "there is no usable theme in
Mythbuntu".

The frontend takes a huge part of defining the characteristics of this
software and - based on the current available selection (excluding my
copy) - I have to agree with my collegue.

Again: this is no mocking on the work!
In contrary: it is the clear glorification of past works!
Don't get this mixed up.

Nicolas
