When I was getting failure to lock to a dvb channel I think someone 
suggested running mythbackend -v channel, which showed that frequency 
tuning was ok but that some mux parameter wasn't being passed.  I don't 
know if this is likely to be related to the current Hauppauge 
difficulties  - I would guess not - but it might be worth a look.
