[mythtv-users] Hauppage Nova-TD and failed recordings

Hi list,

My setup is as follows:

UK, recording only from Freeview (DVB-T) and Freeview HD (DVB-T2).
1x Hauppage Nova-TD dual tuner USB stick
1x Some other USB stick with a single HD tuner (I forget what it is, but I
don't think it's important here)

Mythbuntu 12.04.2 LTS with up to date 0.26-fixes.
Listings from tv_grab_uk_rt, except for a few channels that I use EIT for.

All has worked for some years. Since I upgraded to 0.26, I've been getting
quite a lot of failed (0-byte) recordings - perhaps 30% of all recordings
fail. These only ever happen on the Nova-TD stick. They *seem* to happen
more on one multiplex than others, but they are not restricted to that
multiplex (and the favouring of that one that could be random chance / my
imagination).

I have Mythwelcome running, and have the machine shutting down when it has
nothing to do for a long time and starting again 5 minutes before a
recording. I mention this because the pattern often seems to be that the
first recording after it starts up fails, but subsequent ones succeed.
However, this is not reliably true.

Relatedly, when I try with LiveTV, I usually only get Partial Lock from
this card at first - but if I change away from it to the HD tuner and then
back again, it works fine.

I've tried deleting each of the dual tuners in turn to see if one of them
is dud. No use. I've tried putting up the various timeouts and tuning
delays, no use. I've tried changing Fast Tuning between "Live TV Only" and
"Always", but it made no difference.

Below are log snippets from the start of first a successful, then
unsuccessful recording. The unsuccessful one gets to "Tuning recording" and
then nothing more happens until 15 secs later when I see that it has failed
and try to play it. Any advice would be very welcome!

Thank you.
