I think you have to disable fast tuning for nova-tD & it needs a long
timeout.

Can you try an expt with forced cold start?
After box starts down (via auto shudown)..pull out & replug the tuner
stick.

There were reports of these devices not working properly after
suspend/hiberation.
If the USB port is not powering off the tuner then it could be in warm
start mode on box restart.

There were some recent threads with USB standby power
debugging/disabling.

Does your mobo support USB standby power?
