I have brighthouse and an HDHR Prime, it's not good news. Everything
except locals is CCI "Copy Once".
I've actually moved a few times over the past several months - my old
house, temp apartment, and new house. My first place was Time Warner
Cable. TWC also sets everything to 0x02 - aka, copy once, except
locals.
Then, I moved to an apartment for a few months while I was waiting to
move in to my new house. It was served by Comcast. It was great
because I could basically get everything that I subscribed to with NO
problems. Everything I ever needed to watch was CCI 0x00, which is
"Copy Freely". I did have some issues initially getting the cablecard
activated, but once it worked it was awesome.
Then, I moved to my current house, serviced by Bright House Networks.
BHN only serves a few areas of the country, so reports are few and far
between. Since you asked, I thought I'd give you my report. It's
just like it was when I had TWC. The activation of the CC was very
easy, but the only channels marked copy freely are the local
broadcasts. It's very disappointing, but that appears to be their
current corporate policy. Right now I have to leverage my HD-PVR and
an STB which is just a pain compared to the HDHR Prime.
Brighthouse has a way to contact the president of the company, and
I'll likely send a letter explaining what I'm trying to do and how
some of the US's largest providers do not have such a restrictive
policy. I'm not sure how much they'll be willing to listen, or to
help, but all I can do is plead my case. People who have Tivo's have
a similiar problem in that they can't use the "Tivo-to-go" features,
or the multi-room setups.
If you have brighthouse, I'd encourage you to write in and try and
educate the executives on why their policy only hurts consumers and
isn't in line with the policies of their largest competitors. Here's
the link I'm referring to:

They tend to be very responsive on Twitter and other social networks
too in handling customer questions/complaints, but I'm not really a
twitter user, so I haven't tried that path.
Good luck!
