Don't know.  Perhaps something that was mentioned related to input 
groups, but maybe not implemented?  Anyway, there's work afoot to get 
volume normalization into Myth, so it may not matter in the long run.

Especially the part starting with, "However, IMHO, the patch is 
completely unnecessary..."  (Besides, do you really want 4 capture cards 
recording constantly?)

The backend's not noticing that the frontend isn't there shouldn't 
happen as often.  There may be a proper way to tell the backend that the 
frontend is gone if something goes wrong, but I don't know it since I 
don't do LiveTV, so I've never had to figure out how to fix the problem.
