[mythtv-users] Weird firewire capture color issue

I don't even know how to describe this one. I have a Motorola 6200
which I've been using for quite some time as a second tuner/HD capture
via firewire. I get most of my subscribed channels on it.

In the last week, shows captured via firewire have been exhibiting some
strange color issues. The show will look fine, then all of a sudden one
of the color channels is shifted to the right by about 10% or so. It'll
look like that for a while, then sometimes the color switches, and a
different color channel will be shifted. Then maybe the whole picture
shifts a bunch, wrapping around so what would normally be on the sides
of the screen is now in the middle (think "123456" turning into "456123")

Changing the channel instantly restores it to normal, but after a bit it
goes wonky again. I can try to get some pictures on the web if anyone
needs a visual for what I've just described.

Anyone seen this behavior before? Know what I can do to fix it? I'm
running Gentoo on a 2.6.18 kernel AMD64 if it matters.

I don't have a TV anywhere near the 6200 to see if it's outputting the
strange signal over non-firewire channels too, but I'll try to set one
up when I get a chance with the firewire capture not being busy.

Thanks in advance.

Greg
