You can export the channels-table of the mysql-database, and import it on 
the new backend. It is very easy (also for a non-specialist as me) with 
phpmyadmin. Just be careful, not to overwrite the wrong server !

At best, you should do that when the channel-table on the new server is 
empty (before scanning channels).
