[mythtv-users] "Videos" won't play

first - just subscribed and only after a single day I've already
learned a ton, so you guys are great :).

second, and most importantly - I went looking through the archives for
anything pertaining to this but couldn't seem to find anything that
might help the situation. The purpose of my mythtv setup is basically
to serve as a central station for watching videos, recordings, and
saved shows on the two tivos in my apartment.   Essentially there are
no videos on my mythtv box, they're all spread out across the network
amongst 3 computers and (smb)mounted in the myth box via samba.

Sound works fine (using Alsa) because I can play mp3's, also mounted
via samba, through mythtv.   However - when I go to "Videos" and try
to play something through there ... mythtv just sits there, looks like
it's hanging.   The command used to play the file is

mplayer -fs -zoom -vo xv %s

eg:

mplayer -fs -zoom -vo xv
/home/mythtv/video/tv/seinfeld/Season7/seinfeld_the_engagement.mpg

Now, via command line that works fine, but through myth, like i said,
it just sits there. no action.

Could this have something to do with it's accessing the file through
samba? I would imagine "no" since it works fine via the regular
command line.

Anyone have any ideas?
