Same here. No problems following the guide up to this point. When I
"modprobe ivtv" I see the exact same thing on an Asus P4P800 motherboard
with a Hauppauge PVR-250MCE card.

I caught the following before one hang:

Mar 7 01:29:29 mythtv kernel: Linux video capture interface: v1.00
Mar 7 01:29:29 mythtv kernel: i2c-core.o: i2c core module version 2.8.4 (20040207)
Mar 7 01:29:29 mythtv kernel: ivtv: version 0.1.9 (release) loading
Mar 7 01:29:29 mythtv kernel: ivtv: SGarray_size = 340, DSGarray_size = 16
Mar 7 01:29:29 mythtv kernel: ivtv: Found an iTVC15 based chip
Mar 7 01:29:29 mythtv kernel: tuner: chip found @ 0xc2
Mar 7 01:29:29 mythtv kernel: tuner(bttv): type forced to 2 (Philips NTSC (FI1236,FM1236 and compatibles)) [insmod]
Mar 7 01:29:29 mythtv kernel: saa7114.c: starting probe for adapter ivtv i2c driver #0 (0x10005)
Mar 7 01:29:29 mythtv kernel: saa7114.c: detecting saa7114 client on address 0x42
Mar 7 01:29:29 mythtv kernel: saa7115.c: writing init values
Mar 7 01:29:31 mythtv kernel: status: (1E) 0x50, (1F) 0xc0
Mar 7 01:29:31 mythtv kernel: msp34xx: init: chip=MSP3448W-A2, has NICAM support
Mar 7 01:29:31 mythtv kernel: msp3410: daemon started

The next time I tried I only saw the three 'ivtv' lines. These hangs
happen regardless of whether I run a uniprocessor or smp kernel. I'm
running 2.4.22-1.2174.nptl_37.rhfc1.at. The PVR-250 is reported by
lspci as:

02:09.0 Multimedia video controller: Internext Compression Inc iTVC16
(CX23416) MPEG-2 Encoder (rev 01)
Subsystem: Hauppauge computer works Inc.: Unknown device 4801
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 5
        Memory at e8000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=64M]
Capabilities: [44] Power Management version 2

I have the following ivtv related rpms installed:

ivtv-0.1.9-24.rhfc1.at
ivtv-firmware-2.02.023-3.at
ivtv-kmdl-2.4.22-1.2174.nptl_37.rhfc1.at-0.1.9-24.rhfc1.at
ivtv-kmdl-smp-2.4.22-1.2174.nptl_37.rhfc1.at-0.1.9-24.rhfc1.at

The ivtv-firmware-2.02.023-3.at rpm contains the hauppauge
pvr250_18_22035.exe firmware file.

I'm stumped. Anyone have any suggestions?

David
