[mythtv-users] references to "significant other"

I might have been the person who brought the "WAF/GAF" term to this list,
over from the various car-nut and auto-racing lists.  In the auto racing
community, there is an old saying that seems apropos here:

  "I live with fear every day of my life; and sometimes she let's me race."

You might not like it, but as far as hobbies and certain kinds of aptitudes
go, my wife and I *are* different species.  And she would probably tell you
(1) that her species is certainly superior to mine, (2) that my use of the
term "WAF" in no way insults her intelligence, and (3) *your* presumption
that I (and others) think of our wives as inferior *is* in fact insulting to
her.

I don't mean to be politically correct, but I wish you would stop insulting
my wife.  (Please take this the right way --- this was meant to be somewhat
tongue-in-cheek...)

One of the cool things about mythtv is that it is one way for me to indulge
in one of my geek hobbies, in a way that has a real impact on the quality of
life of my wife.  She has *very* different ideas and perspectives on the
usability of mythtv, and it is no surprise to me that many other's wives are
similar.  I'm convinced that this contributes greatly to the development of
mythtv.  To see something insulting in this is, in a word, strange.
