Installed toolame and got a little further but still no dice. It doesn't seem to like spaces in filenames, so I entered a name with _'s. Output is below. Thanks for any advice; clearly this works for others.
It seems to _read_ the .nuv file OK. I'm running myth cvs as of around 14:00 today, but the file I've been testing with was older. Should I be looking for mplayer 0.90? I do need the patch, right? The only pointer in the docs is to the one for 0.90.

You may still have issues with that, depending upon which version of
myth you're using. the nuv file format has changed since that patch
(unless there's a new one out)

hmm, looks like mp2enc doesn't work with raw pcm data. Until I get a
workaround for this, just install toolame - it's a better encoder,
anyway.
I'd also tell you to grab the latest version of my script, but I'm
having some sync issues with it again and haven't put it online.
