[mythtv-users] Missing progress bar

I just upgraded my Mythbuntu 16.04.1 fresh install and then tested to see
if the progress bar problem had gone away after doing a reboot. This seems
to be a problem with VDPAU modes only. I think you will find this
interesting and odd.

Here is an image of the screen sans progress bar using VDPAU

Here is what I get with my old custom setup. I think this is correct. Green
progress bar on a blue field.

 And here is the odd part.  Going back to VDPAU I get an odd progress bar.
It works but the colors are brown on a green field.

Unfortunately, it doesn't stick.

This behavior is independent of themes.  I have tried MythCenter-Wide 1.7
and Terra 1.4
I am using 720p to my Sony TV.  Mostly we watch 720p source.  Sometimes we
watch 1080i and converting that to 720p is fine and compatible with our
projector.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

On a side note, I installed 16.04.1 instead of 16.04.5 because of a
conflict with my old video card.  I thought that the upgrade I just did
would also upgrade that but I don't think it did.  Here is what I did:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:mythbuntu/0.28
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade

And the result

PS.  So far swap is 0 (an improvement) but as it grew with time before the
upgrade, I will reserve judgement.
PPS. Doing the backup on Clonezilla took something like 5 hours yesterday.
Much longer than cloning the drive took a few days ago.
