[mythtv-users] No ALSA audio in MythTV

Thanks for the replies, you led me in the right direction and I got it
fixed.

The "Rescan" button in the GUI was giving the "inval8d snd can not be used"
error. I had been checking the backend logs (which showed nothing), but
the frontend log showed that ALSA support was not compiled in. Must have
been 100% my fault. In my haste to get this box working, I must have
compiled MythTV before the ALSA libraries were installed. That's
embarrassing.

I recompiled and now I have sound working through the speaker output,
patched to the audio input on my TV. That's good enough for now. I have
still not been able to get the DisplayPort audio working, even when setting
the radeon driver option "audio" to 1.

Thanks!
Dave
