Some will avoid them due to name.  Just like some will
avoid Seagate, or WD, or .... due to a personal bad
experience with a particular model.  Those that do this
at large scale understand there *are* bad designs, and
to avoid those models(*), but that says nothing about a
different model.  I believe the backblaze study shows
some specific models *suck* from particular vendors,
but different models from the same manufacture have
good (i.e. low) failure rates.

In the case of OCZ, I think they have started to publicly
document their failure rates (which is extremely rare
in the industry) as part of their attempt to mend their
reputation.  It might work (as long as the numbers
continue to look good).


(*) The problem, of course, is that often the failure
rates are not really known until the drives are available
for some time.  And by then you may have a few
thousand of the drives.
