php7 finally removed some of the deprecated functions in php5.x.

As there are automated tools to perform initial conversion
from ext/mysql to ext/mysqli, this might be a good opportunity
for someone who can grok php, but might not otherwise be steeped
in C++ and Qt to contribute patches (and test, test, and test).

As I recall mysqli has been available since php 5.0 (although
someone should check), and while I do not recall the stated
requirements for mythweb, I believe php 5.0 is not an unreasonable
minimum level (php 5.0 was released in ~2004, and anyone
who has not upgraded their php in over ten years may simply
need to reconsider).
