[mythtv-users] scheduler ignoring "new episodes only" instruction

All,

After updating from apt and rebooting my mythbox yesterday for the
first time in a few weeks, I now have a frustrating problem of too
much Law & Order (among other things) scheduled to record. The problem
is that my rule is set to only record new episodes, but that
instruction is suddenly being ignored. I've tried deleting and
re-adding the rule, and I tried setting the "new episodes only"
directive both ways that the frontend lets me (both via the filters
checkbox and via the duplicate checking menu item). Everything was
working until yesterday, but I can't get it to work now. Any
suggestions?

I'm running a single combined BE/FE on the 0.27-fixes branch. I'm
currently on version v0.27.5-17-g2ad3158. My machine runs Mythbuntu
14.04.
