[mythtv-users] alt lightweight web servers for MythTV?

Thanks for the input offered thus far to my query. I'm continuing to take
stock of things. I'd actually run across that MythWeb/nginx page
previously and thought a bit about it. I'm not terribly conversant in web
servers, so I didn't get a whole lot out of reading that on a first pass.
Having looked at it again more carefully, the one point I find most
confusing is also the one that is flagged as being insufficiently
documented--namely, the Perl backend. I don't know any Perl, my only
experience with it to date being some attempts at modifying a simple
script, so I really am clueless as to what the referenced backend might
be. Anyone care to elaborate? Oh, and by the way, my MythTV has been
compiled without Perl scripting support (because I have no idea about how
to do any scripting at all beyond some really rudimentary bash stuff): I
suppose, were I to go with this nginx solution, I'd need to recompile
MythTV with Perl support?
