POST power on self test performed by BIOS.

A previous setup had a HD graphics card in the PCIe x16 slot

Yes in the current setup that is giving signal to the monitor

Yes, I did, and looking through BIOS setup, I didn't recognize
anything that would determine what graphics were to be used.

I don't know what you mean here, TAB in BIOS or where, I see grub on
every boot, because I'm dual boot, TAB there?
