.24 uses a different version of mythlibs.

I dont know why you chose to dewnload the deb rather than just using
synaptic, apt-get or aptitude...

anyway, I would restore your 0.23 database backup. Use synaptic to identify
all the myth packages and install the 0.24 versions. You should also ensure
that you have removed libmyth-0.23 and installed libmyth-0.24

you will need to re-run mythsetup on the MBE for the database upgrade to
occur. Then run the frontends.

I may get flamed for this but if this doesnt work I would remove all traces
of mythtv from your system and install the correct 0.2x-fixes version branch
from mythbuntu ppa's
