Yeah, it's already happened to me once.  Power cycle the HDPVR and reboot
fixed things, but that's not going to work in the long run.  I may need to
try to get the firewire channel changing working per Jarod's suggestion.  

But at the moment I can't get the frontend to do playback so first things
first.
