I'm familiar with the IR noise from the LCD panels. However:
1) irw works fine
2) mythtv's lirc worked before the upgrade to karmic/myth 0.22
3) I have an RF remote that has a tranceiver in a closed cabinet that
converts from RF to IR in isolation from the LCD
4) the remote is always delayed by a few minutes after mythtv starting, even
if I start, wait for it to work, stop, and restart.
So I'm confident it isn't LCD related.
