Well, redefining the video sources was a mess, but apparantly the box is 
able to record again! So thanks for this hint!

mythfilldatabase is now A LOT faster than before, so thats definitely a 
plus.

On the negative side, lots of (DVB-T) channels don't tune in any more, 
but this was something which come with the 0.24 upgrade. I don't know if 
or what kind of relation that is, it's just my subjective observation...

Basically I have now an new starting point, albeit the system is kind of 
messy right now.
