I've got an Avermedia A180 that I'm close to putting in production.  I have no 
problems finding channels, but I'll have to see if the signal is string 
enough.  This card will only be used for QAM since the nearest ATSC 
transmitter is 175 hilly miles away broadcasting a whopping 3.5 kW.

For those who don't know what channels are encrypted on your cable systems, 
you can probably find out by checking the service menus on your digital cable 
box (if you have one).  On my motorola DCT-2000, if I hit OK just after 
turning the box off, the service menu comes up.  Option 7 will show the 
frequency, encryption and pid of the currently tuned channel.
