To install myth on fedora from binary is simple as logging in as root and
opening a terminal window and typing:
yum install mythtv-suite
To uninstall myth you need to use the rpm command, for your information yum
is kind of like a wrapper for rpm. The command to remove myth is:
rpm -qa | grep myth | xargs rpm -e
To install myth from the svn you need some detail instructions which are
Note however it is best to use the binary version, yum install mythtv-suite,
unless there is a specific bug fix you are looking for.
The myth wiki above is very complete, in fact I am a newbie at linux and
used it to get myth installed. My recommendation though is to use the
configuration options at the bottom of the page, actually I created
automatic build scripts following instructions at bottom of page. After
doing this and waiting about 2 hours for the build to complete it worked
perfect. Note I have tried about 5 times before this to get it to work.
