[mythtv-users] Riva TNT: aspect ratio problems with 16:9

Hi,

I have a Diamond Viper 550 (Riva TNT NV4) in my mythtv box. I use nvtv
to get tv-out to work.
Drivers are 1.0-7184 Nvidia legacy driver, Xorg 7.1.1 and kernel
2.6.18-gentoo-r2.

The problem is that the driver doesn't be able to shrink the video to
the correct format. 4:3 shows are correct. When I switch to 16:9 I have
the correct display rectangle with black borders on the top and bottom,
but the video wasn't resized. The bottom is cutted off and the osd
(isthmus) is shown behind the bottom border. You can only see a small
part from the osd in the visible display rectangle.
On 16:9 shows I have to switch to 4:3 to get the full video, but then
the video is stretched with ugly egg heads.

I don't know if this is a driver issue with this video card or a problem
with nvtv or tv-out.
I have tried to workaround this in the videooutbase.cpp, but the only
result was that the osd was on the correct place. The video doesn't
shrink either.

Have anyone seen this issue and has a solution for this?

Thanks
Wolfgang
