What you could try is using mythweb to go into settings and then channel info.

There you can combine the xmltv id info with the numbered channels that you 
had from scanning with the dvb cards. You can then delete anything you donīt 
want.

You may subsequently find some channels returning (I did) and then you will 
need to edit the xmltv file in the relevant home directory by hand.

I hope that works (and makes sense).
