For what its worth, I have XvMC and MythTV 0.19 working perfectly fine
on my VIA EPIA frontend. I don't have a direct solution for you, but I
can give you the specs of my system:

VIA EPIA M10000
Gentoo Linux, kernel 2.6.15.1
mythtv-0.19
Xorg-x11-6.8.99
ivtv-0.4.3 (PVR-250 capture card)

all have been compiled from scratch using ebuilds, except ivtv which I
compiled the old-fashioned way using make ;-)

I've even managed to get a colour OSD on screen by following the
directions in http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/changeset/7569 and in
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/XvMC#Greyscale_OSD_.28NVidia_4_.26_5.29
This is despite the fact that the wiki indicates that the fix should
NOT work for non-Nvidia cards!

If anyone wants any more detail on my system/copies of config files,
let me know.
