Ah... never mind.

I think I'll avoid them for a while. At least until the direct protocol
connection stuff is a little more resilient.

xbox or dbox?

I've been running an EPIA box (M 6000 based I think) for web browsing and
ssh sessions in the bedroom for some time now. It was bought with MythTV in
mind but it has its limitations. It is perfectly silent (netboot so no HD or
CD/DVD) which is nice. However I've not managed to get mythfrontend to run
properly on it. I admit that I've not tried minimyth though.
One of my concerns is the integration of the video into the rest of my AV
kit. It as a coax composite video out and all my kit is wired together with
SCART. Now I can get a composite to SCART cable but the current kit uses the
'override' pin in the scart setup so that all the devices are daisy chained
and when one further down is activated it take the 'focus'. i.e. turn the
DVD on and its picture replaces the cable one, play a video and it
overrides the above, turn the MVP box on etc etc.
This is different discussion really though.
