I have MythTV 0.18.1 running with a PVR-250 card. About two months ago,
I added a pcHDTV-3000 card but still can't figure out how it get it
recognized by the OS. I'm running 2.6.13-r5 on Gentoo. At one point,
someone here told me all I had to do was select the DVB modules and
re-compile my kernel. Specifically, I've navigated to Device Drivers
---> Multimedia devices ---> and have selected "Video for Linux" to be
compiled as a module. Under "Video For Linux" is an indented "Video for
Linux". If I select that, I'm presented with a list of video adapters.
>From the list, I've selected "Conexant 2388x (bt878 successor) support"
(for my PVR-250?). There is also an option labeled "DVB Support for
cx2388x based TV cards". I don't think I need that but I've tried it
both ways.
Then back up to the "Video For Linux" main screen and I select "Digital
Video Broadcasting Devices ---> " and have these two entries in the list:
[*] DVB For Linux
<M> DVB Core Support
Nothing else is set. At the bottom of the list, I entered the
"Customise DVB Frontends --->" submenu and selected the following:
<M> OR51132 based (pcHDTV HD3000 card)
Nothing else is set. This option is only available when I don't select
"DVB Support for cx2388x based TV cards" in the "Video For Linux"
section. I've tried it both ways but no matter which, I get this output
from dmesg:

I am under the assumption that the HD-3000 card is one of the Multimedia
controllers listed and thus, is installed correctly. Or am I wrong?
Thanks for any assistance. I am absolutely stuck on something that
shouldn't be this difficult, judging from the lack of current Google
hits on the subject. :)
Thanks,
Drew
