[mythtv-users] Assistance with a few minor problems

I recently built my first MythTV box on a extra computer I had and so
far it has been working quite well. There are a few issues though that I
was hoping someone could shed a bit of light on.

The first is that when rewinding and fast forwarding recordings it will
only do it for a short period of time, generally 10-15 seconds before
the video just stops. Pressing play again returns the video to playing
normally but it seems to restart from where you first pressed the fast
forward button. The only way I can truly fast forward video right now is
to do it in short "spurts" in the hopes that I will press play again
before the video freezes. The speed doesn't really seem to matter
either, 3x or 100x its however far you can get in the "allocated" 15
seconds or so. To shed a bit more light on this the following appears in
my log frequently while watching recordings but I cannot be certain if
these are being generated only when I am attempting to fast forward or
rewind.

and

2006-12-31 11:29:05.512 NVP: prebuffering pause

The second issue is that I always get the following error in my log when
mythfrontend starts:

2006-12-31 10:42:30.044 VideoOutputXv: XvMCTex: Init failed
2006-12-31 10:42:30.045 VideoOutputXv: XVideo Adaptor Name: 'NV17 Video
Texture'
X Error: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) 8
  Major opcode:  141
  Minor opcode:  14
  Resource id:  0x190

I read up a bit on this and most thought it was due to a problem with
the installation of XvMC, the library is installed as follows:

-r--r--r-- 1 root root 194022 Dec 20 17:00 /usr/lib/libXvMCNVIDIA.a
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     25 Dec 20 17:00
/usr/lib/libXvMCNVIDIA_dynamic.so.1 -> libXvMCNVIDIA.so.1.0.9631
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 178924 Dec 20 17:00
/usr/lib/libXvMCNVIDIA.so.1.0.9631
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     16 Oct 28 12:57 /usr/lib/libXvMC.so ->
libXvMC.so.1.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     16 Oct 28 12:54 /usr/lib/libXvMC.so.1 ->
libXvMC.so.1.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root  11992 Jul 13 00:42 /usr/lib/libXvMC.so.1.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     17 Oct 28 12:57 /usr/lib/libXvMCW.so ->

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root  17748 Jul 13 00:42 /usr/lib/libXvMCW.so.1.0.0

Thanks for any assistance you can offer
