[mythtv-users] choppy video playback

I know this has been covered a ton before, but after searching the archive,
I still came up blank. So here goes. I built a system with the following
specs;

P-III 1.0 GHz Coppermine
256 MB PC-133 RAM
PC Chips M779MR MicroATX MoBo
Nvidia GeForce 4400
Hauppauge PVR-150
Seagate 160 GB Hard Drive
Sony DVD Rom

Everything but the Mother Board and Processor are new. After it is all
setup, When I try to play back MPEG video with Xine, it looks like crap. It
drops frames all over the place. It does not matter is it is from a disk in
the DVD drive, or if it is an ISO on the hard drive. Top tells me that Xine
is using 85-90% CPU. I have a similar system and it only uses 15-25% CPU
when decoding MPEG video. So I am looking for help or places to start
trouble shooting. This system should be more than adequate.

Here is what I have already done.
DMA for both drive is on.
Xine is launched with "xine -V xx"
using the latest Nvidia drivers
given root privileges to xine
run "xine-check" and no problems were detected.
using 80 conductor IDE cable

Any help would be appreciated. -Mat
