[mythtv-users] TV lasts 1 second then dies

I had a similar symptom (1/2 second of video, then hang) when I first
set up my PVR-500.

The solution for me was changing the tuner type (specified in the
options when the 'ivtv' module was loaded). I found people using
several different settings documented on various forums/sites, and
some were wrong. After changing to the correct tuner, I got video.

Can you capture video directly from the video0 device, to verify the
card is working? ( cat /dev/video0 > /tmp/video.mpg ) At least that
way you can narrow it down to a driver problem or a MythTV problem.
