[mythtv-users] Transcoding, remotely?

I too am looking for the same thing. I actually want to transcode it on my
windows box which is a 2.8 vs my mythtv box that's a 2.53. Is there some app
that can read/transcode myth's nuv files in windows?

Another question on this line. Does transcoding happen on the frontend or
backend? Or which ever one queued it up? I have a fast frontend and would
like to transcode on it instead of the backend.

I'd like to schedule some shows to be transcoded, from a slow

remote connection (too slow to run mythfrontend and press "X").

Is this as simple as inserting a value into a mysql table?

If so, can someone give me a sample sql? Thanks in advance!
