[mythtv-users] Recomiling the Kernal

He Folks.

I have been trying to setup a Myth system for some time now
and I am on my second install due to system problems. I really do like
the application and plan on using it as my primary means of watching TV.
My install is a Fedora Core 1 system with a 200 gig drive and a PVR-350.
I am using Jarod's guide and for the first install everything went fine.

I have a few questions however, first there seems to be no
mention of kernel recompiles. I would like to use the JFS or XFS file
system for my storage medium but there is no mention of it in the guide.
Are there any pit falls that I need to watch out for in doing so, also
how do I use the existing config ( for the kernel recompile) and simply
add the file systems that I want. I don't know were the current config
file is kept so that I can simply change just the file systems
available.

Second question, I followed the guide to the letter and
after I used APT to get the myth suite, APT would not work any more. Did
I do something wrong or am I just think?

I hope I have provided all the info you need to help me, if not I will
add more later.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Brian.
