Not necessarily. The ATI TV Wonder VE for instance doesn't have any real
audio support on board anyway. You have to use audio out from the card
to the line in on your sound card. Any line in would route the same way,
so it would be a waste. Might as well just plug straight into the line
in on your sound card.

They may not be labeled "line-in", but your card definitely has audio
input(s). Otherwise, what's the point of having composite video in?
On
my card (orig. series Avermedia from '98) these audio inputs are for
the L&R audio channels and are RCA plugs (use composite audio
cables).
