This is a driver bug. XVideo works with Compiz on nVidia hardware.
I asked some RedHat and SuSe Xorg guys about this a couple years ago
and they said they were waiting for some Xorg 7.2 improvements before
they were going to fix it in the Intel driver. (nVidia had used a
cute hack to fix this under Xorg 6.9/7.0).
As a workaround, if your video hardware is fast enough, you can
use the OpenGL video output renderer instead of the XVideo renderer.
(You can probably only do 640x480 on Intel HW).
