I am at least partially aware of this problem.  However, it's basically
the complete opposite for most of us in the US.  As I suggested when I
first released this code, the best workaround would be to create a
"european" default theme that emphasized the channel name more than the
number.  I'm not big on adding more if...elseif...else... stuff into the
display code (the display stuff already has more CODE than I want in
it), and another theme would make it a lot easier to rearrange things so
the interface actually looks GOOD with larger channel names.

Anyway, people think it's too much to create a whole separate theme just
for that, I'll see if I can find a way to make the names more prominent.
