Oh, so no need to change anything? "Ouch! This really needs fixing."
and "looks good to me" seem to be on opposite ends of the spectrum.

No, I didn't do any PPA stuff after the upgrade. I see evidence of
there being PPAs used in the semi-distant past, but it looks like I'm
just using the MythTV version that comes with the distro:

/etc/apt/sources.list.d/mythbuntu-testing-trusty.list.save:# deb
http://ppa.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/testing/ubuntu xenial main # disabled
on upgrade to xenial
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/mythbuntu-0_27-trusty.list.save:# deb
http://ppa.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/0.27/ubuntu xenial main # disabled on
upgrade to xenial
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/mythbuntu-0_28-trusty.list.save:# deb
http://ppa.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/0.28/ubuntu bionic main # disabled on
upgrade to xenial disabled on upgrade to bionic
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/mythbuntu-ubuntu-0_29-xenial.list.save:# deb
http://ppa.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/0.29/ubuntu bionic main # disabled on
upgrade to bionic
