I did completely remove the build directory which contains both the mythtv
and packaging repos. I also removed the $HOME/proj directory.

But the key is removing all the files in the /usr/lib/pkgconfig directory.
If I don't do that then libmythexiv2.... doesn't get included. The deb
needs to have those even if they are on the system and unchanged since the
last build because if you post the .deb you can't depend on the state of
the new system previous to installing the .deb.

I just took the .debs for mythtv-light and mythplugins for the PI and
posted them to the v35 folder on Google drive. I then started fresh with a
new RPI OS (Debian 12) and installed those 2 packages and ran my script to
set up the database, backend service, etc. and it seems to work fine.

I did find out the cause of my date/language problem on the RPI. The PI
ignores what you put in your setup when building the image with rpi-images.
So the first step should be to run sudo raspi-config and set the locale
stuff. It even had ISO instead of UTF-8. Once that is right, the web app
is right.
