Hello, thanks for your reply.
I assume your DVB-T and DVB-S2 recordings are also in TS format? And
are h264 and 1920x1080?
Yes, I agree that I could use VDPAU (or std FFMPEG) for these, but I
seem to think there is something going on that is different and
possibly specific for my recordings (TS files) vs mp4 files.
Like i mentioned, TS files with mpeg2 (720x576 SDTV) are fine with
NVDEC but a TS file with h264 (1920x1080 FHD) is not fine with NVDEC
on driver 535.183 but is ok on 525.147 with NVDEC.
I might look to see if there is any other info i can dig out using mediainfo.
I wanted to stay with NVDEC as default as it handles HEVC whereas
VDPAU doesn't and i believe VDPAU is no longer developed.
Can any of the devs make any comments if anything has changed in the
code to play recordings in v34 which has changed since v33 or v32, or,
could there be anything different in the code to play recordings vs
playing videos? I want hoping to narrow it down to pure driver issue
or not.
thanks,
