Hello all,
I am running Debian 12 with mythtv 33.1 from DMO repository and a
nvidia GT1030 card.
I recently noticed that my playback has colour scrambled for TS files
with h264 and 1920x1080 recorded from FTA sources in Australia.
I use NVDEC decode and playback profile (NVDEC Normal).
I didn't recall this occurring a while back (this is my desktop so i
don't use mythfrontend all that often), so i checked my nvidia drivers
and it occurred to me that maybe I had updated my nvidia drivers and
this caused the issue?
I saw that I now had nvidia 535.183 drivers.
I did a bit more testing and i noticed that playback was fine for
720x576 Mpeg2 TS FTA recordings. Also, h264 1920x1080 worked fine
from mythvideo playing a mp4 container file. So it seemed very
specific to TS h264 1920x1080 files.
I checked my main frontend (different machine but same GT 1030 nvidia
card) and that has mythfrontend 32.0 (Debian 11) and nvidia drivers
470.141. (Note that the main frontend didn't need a full update so i
just left it alone). This machine is fine with the same TS h264
1920x1080 files so i assume the newer drivers have caused something.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I still had 525.147 in my apt cache locally so i downgraded to that
version and that fixed it!
Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot and to try and dig into this
further as i would rather stay with latest nvidia drivers as i may not
have the old drivers available if i need to reinstall my desktop one
day.
I realise this is not necessarily a mythtv issue, but that is software
where i am experiencing the playback issues so i thought i'd raise it.
I'm also not necessarily ready to move to v34 as that's only available
on debian 12 backports and i thought i'd wait till debian 13 before
moving to v34.
thanks,
Simon
