Under settings,power, do you have blank screen set to never and 
automatic suspend too off? One other thing you can look at is your BIOS. 
There is some settings in there that can cause that also. You didn't say 
what video card you are using. It could be a driver issue. If it's 
onboard video, try a card if you happen to have one...
