Thanks for the reply – you were actually the precipitate of my post as
you had recently posted of your switch from the HDHomeRun to the
Hauppauge 1609. I have a similar reception location as all of the local
stations except one are at an antenna farm 15 miles from the house, all
UHF; the one is at an antenna farm about 3 miles from the house and is
VHF. (Actual transmitting frequencies, not the virtual/PSIP.)
I remember testing some time back with the Signal Monitor option and
‘only’ getting in the upper 80’s for the three 1000KW ERP stations and
50-60% for the lesser-power stations. Amplification made reception
issues worse. So did an attenuator. (Too much signal is as bad as not
enough.) It sounds like the 1609 may be my answer!
