On Pi4 when using any remotes/keyboards which use USB wifi 2.4GHz
receiver you may experience problems with range due to interference from
USB 3.
See
https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=245607&p=1502072#p1499138
The symptom is that they work from a few inches away but not from say 10
feet. The solution is to use a USB extender cable and plug the USB wifi
2.4GHz receiver into that.
I have experienced this on my Pi4 which has a USB 3 sata adapter
connected to an SSD running Raspbian Buster.
The problem affected my Logitech K400 keyboard, and various mini wifi
keyboards.
