FWIW, v30-pre frontends are currently compatible with v29 backends at
the protocol and database levels.  I use the v30-pre, Android frontend
quite a bit with my production, v29 backend.  Personally, I'd prefer
to maintain compatibility with v29 until the Android frontend is
complete for that reason.
